Dave Poulin scored two goals in the third period Thursday night to lift the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-4 tie with Pittsburgh, extending the Penguins’ winless streak at Philadelphia to 36 games.

Poulin scored his 18th goal of the season less than two minutes into the third period to bring the Flyers within 4-3, and he tied the score with 1:53 left in regulation when his 35-foot shot beat Pittsburgh goaltender Pat Riggin.

St. Louis 6, Minnesota 2--Mark Hunter, Greg Paslawski and Cliff Ronning scored two goals each, and Bernie Federko had three assists at St. Louis as the Blues ended a five-game winless streak.

The Blues, who had lost four straight, spoiled Minnesota’s bid to take over sole possession of first place in the Norris Division.

Chicago 5, N.Y. Rangers 2--Ed Olczyk deflected Bob Murray’s 60-foot shot into the net at 12:10 of the final period at Chicago, breaking a 1-1 tie. Olczyk, planted to the right of goaltender Bob Forese, backhanded the puck into the net.

After Chicago’s Wayne Presley added his 21st goal 79 seconds later, Froese claimed he was interfered with and drew a game misconduct.
