Haynes Leads Aztecs Over UCSB, 69-57

Jessica Haynes scored 12 points and had 12 rebounds and Shelda Arceneaux added 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead San Diego State to a 69-57 victory over UC Santa Barbara in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. women’s basketball game Thursday night at Santa Barbara.

SDSU (7-7, 10-14) led, 30-28, at the half, but Haynes scored 10 points and the Aztecs’ full-court press helped them pull away. Lisa Stevens added 14 points for the Aztecs.

“Jessica Haynes’ rebounding in the second half picked us up, as did the press,” Coach Earnest Riggins said.
