UC Irvine Plays at Pacific Tonight
Tonight’s UC Irvine-University of Pacific matchup in Stockton could very well determine which team gets to play top-ranked Nevada Las Vegas in the first round of the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. basketball tournament.
That may not seem like much of an incentive, but the losing team may have to buy tickets to get into the Forum for the eight-team tourney.
The game is especially critical for Pacific (10-14 overall, 6-9 in the PCAA). The Tigers already trail eighth-place Irvine (12-13, 7-9) by a half-game. They have two games left after tonight, one of which is at UNLV.
Irvine has beaten UOP 14 straight times, including an 83-77 win in the first meeting this season.
