Share

Nostalgic trips in 1920s railroad cars will be among events connected with Switzerland’s 200 years of tourism celebration this year.

Rhaetian Railways will organize the train trips between Chur and St. Moritz and Chur and Disentis throughout the summer. Locals as well as tourists are invited to join, and anyone dressing in period costume will be charged 1930s prices.

Other events connected with the celebration include a journey through Switzerland following in the footsteps of their master of the Sherlock Holmes Society; several mountain-climbing expeditions in the Bernese Oberland, the Valais and the Grisons in the footsteps of the first Alpine pioneers, and a re-creation of Mark Twain’s climbing of Mt. Rigi.
