Doddie Penalosa regained the International Boxing Federation flyweight championship with a fifth-round knockout over Shin Hi-Sup in a scheduled 15-round bout at Seoul, South Korea.
Penalosa, a 22-year-old Philippine southpaw, ended the bout 1:10 into the fifth. A stinging left shook the South Korean champion against the ropes, causing referee Abe Pacheco to give Shin a standing eight-count.
Shin nodded to say he could continue but he collapsed seconds later under a shower of punches.
