Jazz trumpeter Wynton Marsalis is out with his fourth classical album and opens an East Coast tour next month promoting it. Marsalis and the Eastman Wind Ensemble will begin their 10-city “Carnival” tour on March 8 in Burlington, Vt. The itinerary includes Toronto, Schenectady, N.Y.; Symphony Hall in Boston; the Philadelphia Academy of Music; the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.; Lewisburg, Pa.; Elmira, N.Y., and Carnegie Hall in New York. The “Carnival” album, released Monday, spotlights rarely performed virtuoso cornet music by Herman Bellstedt, Herbert L. Clarke, Jules Levy and others.
