Charles J. Deischter, 51, has assumed the position of chief executive officer of Swedlow Inc., in addition to his role as president of the Garden Grove-based plastics company. He succeeds David A. Swedlow as chief executive officer. Swedlow, 75, remains chairman, but will have a less active role with the company.

The company also announced that William F. Fischer, 44, senior vice president for technology, and Ronald C. Moyer, 48, senior vice president for marketing, have been elected to Swedlow’s board, increasing its board to nine members.

Deischter joined Swedlow in March 1980 as director of manufacturing and was elected president and chief operating officer in January 1983. He was formerly in charge of manufacturing for the Burgmaster Co., a division of Houdaille Industries, and was also with the industrial systems division of Hughes Aircraft.
