Bellflower : Downtown Study Proposed
After meeting with the Bellflower Chamber of Commerce, the city’s Planning Department has recommended that a citizens committee be formed to study development along the aging downtown strip.
The committee would be made up of about nine members representing various business fields such as real estate, retail sales, financial and development, said Planning Director Lee Whitenberg. There also will be representatives from the city and the chamber.
The Planning Department will draft a resolution outlining the goals of the committee for the next City Council meeting, he said.
“Basically their duties will be to study the town center and suggest ways that businesses can be attracted in the area,” Whitenberg said.
The Planning Department also has been asked by the council to find a consultant to do a market and economic analysis of the entire city.
