Canoga Park, West Hills and Westhills

Share

Canoga Park, as anyone who cares to do some research can tell you, is a very diversified small town. It got its big growth boost from a forward-looking company called Rocketdyne, which at that time was a division of North American Aviation. It helped put a man on the moon. The homes that are now classified as aging subdivisions were the start for many young GI families. Those who became affluent and felt the need moved on to Woodland Hills, Hidden Hills, Bell Canyon, etc.

Never do I recall hearing anyone bad-mouth this community before. As for the X-rated bars, and movies, how about the superb antique section on Sherman Way? People of taste and the greenbacks necessary to buy at these stores come to Canoga Park from all over California.

Can Canoga Park survive without the hill people? Yes. Can they survive the isolation in the hills? It will be interesting to watch their progress.
