Israeli actor Topol--who became famous for his performance as Tevye in the 1971 film version of “Fiddler on the Roof”--will return in a new production of the musical March 11 in Manchester, England. “In all, I think I have played the role 600 times to date,” Topol said Wednesday. “They wanted me to play it on Broadway and Los Angeles but I said no. After Manchester, I will give it a rest.”
