A 3-year-old boy died at Children’s Hospital Thursday about five hours after he was found unconscious in a backyard pool.
Police said the boy’s mother and an unidentified neighbor pulled Joseph Castillo from the pool at 12:36 p.m. The neighbor was able to resuscitate Castillo just before police and paramedics arrived.
He was taken by Life Flight helicopter to Sharp Memorial Hospital and later transferred to Children’s Hospital. He was put on a life-support system but died at 5:45 a hospital spokeswoman said.
