I’m glad to see you’ve given up politics and moved back toward entertainment, although I’m not sure Jack Handey’s attempt at humor in New York was a good one (“Hey, Read This--You’ll Love It If You Hate N.Y.,” Feb. 22).
In any case, here’s a joke Handey might want to add to his article:
A comedy writer who “means us no harm” sits down to write some “funny New York things for the New Yorker.” He tries and he tries, for at least 5 minutes, but what he comes up with just isn’t funny, so he sends it to Calendar. I don’t know why he does, he just does. Anyway, here’s the funny part: They print it.
