Local News in Brief : Finn’s Chief Deputy to Join Mayor’s Staff

The former chief aide to the late Los Angeles City Councilman Howard Finn has joined the staff of Mayor Tom Bradley, it was announced Monday.

Peter Rudolph, whose title will be special assistant for planning, will serve as the liaison between the mayor’s office and the city Planning Department.

Rudolph was chief deputy to Finn, who had been chairman of the council’s Planning and Environment Committee from 1981 until his death last year.

Rudolph, 38, of Silver Lake, began his career in city government in 1977 as an aide to former Councilman Bob Ronka. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science at California State University, Northridge and a master’s degree in public services at Ball State University in Indiana.
