Three gunmen wearing ski masks surprised armored truck guards making a bank delivery in West Hartford, Conn., and escaped with about $1 million in cash without firing a shot, police said. The heist occurred just a quarter mile from a Wells Fargo armored truck depot that was robbed of $7 million in 1983. The robbers surprised three Loomis Armored Inc. guards outside the Bank of Boston branch shortly before noon and forced them to toss their weapons under their truck.
