Two Pet Alligators Evicted From Jacuzzi
Associated Press
LAURENS, S.C. —
Two small alligators used to life in a Jacuzzi are now roughing it in the wild.
The gators were released to their natural habitat this week after Michael and Mary Franklin of Cross Hill pleaded guilty to charges of possessing American alligators and were fined $200.
The Franklins told Circuit Judge Luke N. Brown that they bought the alligators in Florida and did not know it was illegal for private individuals to have them in South Carolina.
