‘Andy Warhol: Soup to Nuts’

Share

Usually, I find George Will merely insufferable as the last bastion of conservative boorishness and right-wing stupidity, but his column on the life of Andy Warhol has me incensed.

What a slimy piece of offensive offal he has concocted this time. Not content with merely displaying his severe retardation in terms of understanding Warhol’s world. Will feels it’s necessary to insult that work and the man who created it in print before the body is even cold.

Where are those fine, traditional values of decent moral conduct when you need them? In slandering Warhol, he not only shows his moral caliber to be subhuman, but proves himself too cowardly to take on someone who might fight back. Imagine how shocked George F. would be if a more liberal columnist took on the critically ailing, William J. Casey of the CIA for subverting American principles to illegal schemes of conquest. Standards of common decency obviously only apply to the far right side of the aisle. I’m comforted by the fact that surely Warhol would consider it extremely insignificant to have abuse heaped on him by the smallest mind in America.

I never cared much for this pretender to intelligent discourse, but I never imagined he’d sink to the level of attacking the deceased, although I can’t imagine why I held such a high opinion of him. It only shows how dangerous it is to give an idiot a loaded dictionary.
