Intolerant Refrain

Thanks to Margy Rochlin for her titillating treatise on Hope. Unfortunately, she mistakenly listed Jean Hersholt’s name as Gene. Hersholt was the founding father of the Motion Picture and Television Country House and Hospital, which was the recent recipient of a $1-million donation by Hope. At the ground-breaking ceremonies for a new facility in January, Hope quipped: “At my age, it’s a little disturbing to be handed a shovel and told to start digging.” What a guy!
