When they meet tonight, trustees of the Whittier Union High School District will be asked to appoint Lee Eastwood superintendent and approve a contract setting his salary.

Eastwood, 46, is expected to replace Supt. Norman B. Eisen when he retires July 1 after 36 years with the school district.

Board member Harward A. Stearns, an attorney, is writing Eastwood’s contract. Stearns and Eastwood refused to disclose the terms. Eisen earns $86,031 a year.

He has a doctorate in educational administration and curriculum, and his wife, Laurie, is principal of Murphy Ranch School in the East Whittier City School District.
