‘The Dodger Way’ Seems to Need Some Updating

Share

I was amazed the other day to come across an ad for a video entitled “The Dodger Way to Play Baseball.” I took great umbrage at this ostentatious display of baseball knowledge and display of arrogance.

How can a team that finished last in the league in fielding (.971), ninth in team batting (.251), and fifth in pitching (3.76 ERA) expect to teach anyone how to play baseball? I wonder how many aspiring young athletes really want to learn to play baseball this way.

The Dodgers should spend their money on establishing some credibility, rather than trying to promote their mediocre, at best, style of play. If the rest of the league learned to play baseball “the Dodger way,” the Dodgers might have a chance in the pennant race this year.
