CASTING & CAST

Thank you, Calendar and Caulfield, for exposing a very terrible wrongness that the L.A. casting directors have inflicted on starving actors.
They no longer give “general interviews” and they no longer go to plays . I’ve had them admit as much to me.
Teachers? That’s a good one. Sit in on a showcase--and then sit in on a scene class at Stella Adler’s or Robert Lewis’. The casting directors are simply not qualified to teach.
This has gotten way out of hand. Now if we could just do something about the shameful nepotism. . . .
