Boy, 14, Copies Teen Suicides; Clippings Found in Bedroom
Newspaper clippings about six teen-age suicides were found in the bedroom of a 14-year-old boy who apparently killed himself by breathing car exhaust fumes, police reported today.
The death of Kevin Pyter of this northwest Chicago suburb was similar to those last week of four New Jersey teen-agers and two teen-age girls in Alsip, a suburb south of Chicago, said Sgt. Douglas Larsson.
Pyter’s mother, Marilyn, and her boyfriend discovered Kevin’s body Saturday night atop the roof of the family station wagon in their garage, Larsson said.
“He had newspaper clippings--apparently he cut out of a paper, but maybe someone else did--under his bed,” Larsson said. No suicide note was found, he said.
