Twelve followers of political extremist Lyndon H. LaRouche Jr. have been arrested in Virginia, New Jersey and California on charges that they wheedled loans from New Yorkers with no intention of paying them back, New York Atty. Gen. Robert Abrams said. Three more defendants were being sought. They were not identified in Abrams’ announcement of an 18-count indictment alleging grand larceny, conspiracy, securities fraud, scheming to defraud and unlicensed securities dealing.
