Retired Man, 69, Wins ‘Big Spin’s’ $2.6 Million
The retired foreman of a Calexico bottle cap plant, John Rodriguez, 69, won the grand prize, an annuity worth $2.6 million, in the state’s latest lottery “Big Spin.” Rodriguez, who retired in 1979, will receive $107,000 a year for the next 20 years after taxes. He said he planned to buy a new car and set up trust funds for his grandchildren.
