Manhattan Beach : Social Center for Teens
The City Council voted unanimously to spend $25,175 for an after-school drop-in center for teens that the council decided to open earlier this month.
The center, tentatively scheduled at La Marina School on Redondo Avenue, will be a place for teens to meet and socialize, said James Stecklein, director of Parks and Recreation. The center also will hold exercise classes, sports tournaments, dances and have a study room.
Stecklein said there is no scheduled opening date but says he hopes it will be operating by early May.
