Americans’ expectations for a better financial outlook have increased sharply since January, a Gallup Poll found. Fifty-nine percent of those polled said they expect to be financially better off a year from now, while 18% think their situation won’t change significantly and 17% predict a downturn. The findings represent an 8-percentage-point increase in consumer optimism since January, when 51% thought their finances would improve, 26% said they would remain the same and 16% saw them worsening.
