Harbor City : New Harbor Commissioner
The Los Angeles City Council has confirmed the appointment of Kenneth E. Lord to the Board of Harbor Commissioners, which governs the Port of Los Angeles.
Lord, nominated last month by Mayor Tom Bradley, is secretary-treasurer of the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers International Union, Local 1-128. He attended his first board meeting Wednesday.
Lord, of San Pedro, replaces Michael Schwab, a Wilmington union leader who resigned amid allegations that he misappropriated funds at the union local where he worked. Lord’s term expires June 30, 1988.
