The Beatles lost a round in New York court.

Thorn-EMI PLC, the British entertainment group, said the New York Supreme Court had dismissed most of the charges in a longstanding fraud suit filed against two of its record companies by former members of the rock group. George Harrison, Ringo Starr, the widow of John Lennon, Yoko Ono, and two Beatle companies filed the suit in December, 1984. They alleged Thorn’s Capital Records and EMI Records units defrauded them by not paying royalties on sales of various recordings over 18 years. Thorn said the court threw out six of nine charges of fraud.
