Northbound Bus Traffic to Roll Again on Spring

Share

Northbound bus traffic on Spring Street in Central Los Angeles, discontinued 22 months ago, will start again Sunday.

Spring is a one-way street--reserved for southbound traffic--with a single contralane designated for northbound buses. But that contralane was closed in June of 1985 to accommodate street and utility construction.

The Southern California Rapid Transit District said the lane will be open again beginning Sunday, however, and 15 bus lines carrying about 7,800 passengers daily that were operating on Main Street for the last 22 months will be moving back.

Affected will be Lines 27, 28, 70, 71, 84, 85, 90, 91, 94, 97, 328, 406, 407, 496 and 635.
