NAACP Elects Kennedy
The NAACP’s Pasadena branch has elected John J. Kennedy president, ending a bitter campaign between Kennedy and two-term incumbent Stephen H. Mack Jr.
Kennedy defeated Mack by a vote of 297 to 284 on Sunday. However, Mack said he plans to raise objections with the NAACP’s national office.
The election was the second for the Pasadena chapter in four months. The first, on Dec. 14, was invalidated by the national office because of irregularities in the counting of ballots.
