Treasure Map Wins Santa Anita Feature
Treasure Map, ridden by Laffit Pincay, scored a 1 1/2-length victory over Rekindling in Thursday’s $40,000 feature race for fillies and mares on the turf at Santa Anita.
Back in the pack in the early going, Treasure Map took the lead from Rekindling heading out of the final turn and slowly built her lead in the stretch run. Treasure Map was clocked in 1:48 3/5 for the 1 1/8 miles on the grass course.
Scotch And Dry was third, a half-length back of Rekindling.
The winner, the 9-5 favorite of the crowd of 21,106, paid $5.80, $3 and $2.50. Rekindling, ridden by Chris McCarron, returned $4.40 and $2.80. Scotch And Dry, with Fernando Toro aboard, paid $2.40.
