Letter Bomb Like 5 Sent by IRA Defused

LONDON —
Explosives experts early today defused a letter bomb sent to a top civil servant, and police said the package was identical to five IRA letter bombs delivered to government officials in the last week.
Police have defused all the bombs and there have been no injuries. Scotland Yard warned civil servants and political officials returning today from the long Easter holiday to be especially careful when looking through their mail.
