UCLA is the most popular University of California campus among graduating high school seniors applying to UC, university officials reported. Of the 61,788 graduates who want to be UC freshman, 23,507 applied to UCLA, up 2,303 from a year ago. Berkeley was second with 21,598 applicants, up 1,405. Campuses at Santa Barbara, San Diego, Irvine and Davis also received an increased number of applicants.
