Rachel Rauser, 4, whose father allegedly tried to sell her for $100,000, was turned over to her stepmother, Cindy Sullivan-Waltman of Salem, N.J., who is separated from the child’s father, Joseph Waltman. The girl, whose mother was killed in a 1984 accident, had been staying with her aunt and uncle, Deborah and Gary Stern of Sunrise, Fla., who have vowed to fight for her custody. A New Jersey court awarded custody to Sullivan-Waltman. Waltman was arrested March 10 on charges of trying to sell the girl to the Sterns.
