Fellow Workers Save Man Buried in Dirt

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A pipefitter buried alive Monday in a construction site cave-in was saved by three co-workers who dug his face out of the dirt before authorities arrived to pull him from the trench, police said.
Ed Dent, 56, of Chattanooga, escaped with only a broken leg and was hospitalized in fair condition, police Capt. Chuck Robbs said.
