Two 18-year-olds, Leroy Palmer and Johnny Williams, won San Francisco’s AIDS-rap contest by constructing a rap that included the lines “Get protection and use sex safely . . . “ and “use condoms . . . or just say no.” The city’s Health Department, which sponsored the city-wide contest, announced Sunday that Palmer and Williams would split the $500 prize money. “Everybody thinks AIDS is serious, but a lot of them say they aren’t worried about it because they are straight (heterosexual),” said Palmer, a San Francisco City College freshman. “This is the kind of stuff kids should know. They should be careful.”
