Orange County Community College Baseball : Ruscitto Has Two Homers, Sets Record for Fullerton

Andy Ruscitto set a school record with his ninth home run of the season in the fourth inning and hit a grand slam in the fifth inning Tuesday to lead Fullerton College to a 13-4 South Coast Conference victory at Compton.

Ruscitto was 3 for 4 with three runs scored and five RBIs. Scott Einhorn was 3 for 4 with a double, triple and two RBIs. Reggie Brown was 1 for 3 with a run scored, an RBI and two stolen bases for the Hornets (16-4, 22-9).

Mark Kiefer (4-4) pitched 5 innings and allowed three runs and five hits, striking out three.

Robert Small hit a home run in the first inning for Compton (0-20, 0-26), which hasn’t won a game since 1985.

In nonconference games:

Rancho Santiago 20, Ventura 5--Brent Reese had a grand slam and five RBIs, Troy Barnhart was 4 for 4 with four RBIs and three runs scored and Bob Brucato was 5 for 5 with two runs scored to lead the Dons (23-6) at home.

San Diego 18, Saddleback 9--John McRay scattered four hits, including three doubles, and drove in two runs to lead San Diego at Saddleback. Duane Lager, who was 3 for 6, drove in two other runs. San Diego City built a three-run lead in the first and added six in the ninth. Bill Lashed had a home run for Saddleback (10-17). Todd Bush (2-4) was the loser.
