U.S.-Japan Trade Problems

Share

America suffers a trade deficit with Japan because the American public willingly buys foreign products. The American consumer enjoys getting his money’s worth. He works hard for his money and when he purchases his car or television, he does himself justice. He sympathizes with displaced American workers, certainly. But he also contributes long hours towards making car payments.

Instead of Japan bashing, why don’t we also make good products that Americans would work long, hard hours to purchase? A trade restriction would only mean thousands of workers returning to work and million of American consumers visiting the repair shop.
