Pee-wee Herman Friday was named in a $20-million lawsuit brought by a production company claiming he breached a contract to do movies and records under their name. Aspen Film Society claims that under a 1984 written agreement, Paul Reubens, who portrays the character, was to perform as Pee-wee for a series of movies and records (and the merchandising for them) produced by Aspen. But in 1985, Aspen alleges, Reubens and his company, Pee-wee Herman Productions, advised the firm that it intended to repudiate the contract. Neither Reubens nor a spokesman for him could be reached for comment.
