Yorba Linda : 4 Injured in Collision on Imperial Highway

Four people were injured Tuesday morning in a head-on collision on Imperial Highway, the California Highway Patrol reported.

CHP spokesman Mike Schieffer said James Kenneth Parker, 22, of La Puente was southbound near Kellogg Drive about 6 a.m. when he turned to speak to his passenger, drifted across the road and crashed head-on with a northbound vehicle.

Parker was later listed in stable condition at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, a hospital spokeswoman said. His passenger, Edward Hale, 23, of Bassett, Calif., was reported in stable condition.

The driver of the other vehicle, Erma Ruiz, 22, of Fullerton, was in satisfactory condition at UC Irvine Medical Center, where her passenger, Alicia Gonzales, 28, of Placentia, was reported to be in good condition.

An investigation is continuing, Schieffer said.
