California Highway Patrol Officer Craig Peyer once showed her a remote spot where Cara Knott’s body was later found and told her it would be a good place to dump a corpse, a fellow CHP officer testified at Peyer’s San Diego Municipal Court preliminary hearing. Peyer, 36, is charged with strangling Knott, a 20-year-old San Diego State University student, and throwing her body from a 65-foot-high bridge near Mercy Road off Interstate 15 on Dec. 27. Officer Linda Alley quoted Peyer as saying, “Gee, if you ever wanted to dump or get rid of a body, this would be the place to do it.”
