For the first time in 20 years, a music school will send its students to the Soviet Union. Three musical groups from the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore--a ragtime ensemble, the school’s symphony orchestra and a chamber group--have been invited to perform in Moscow and Leningrad from Nov. 26 through Dec. 5. The groups plan to go, if they can raise the $200,000 needed for travel costs--but a spokeswoman for the conservatory said Wednesday preliminary commitments for most of the money have already been made.
