May Will Debut Under Cloudy Skies
The month of May will stroll into Southern California today in the dubious company of another feeble frontal band, forecasters say, but cloudy skies should clear by this afternoon to make the weekend sunny and a little warmer.
With a deep layer of marine air hanging around for the moment, there could be more scattered drizzles in the mountains and southern valleys this morning, but the National Weather Service said a growing high-pressure system should put an end to all of that.
It will not really warm up today, however, said Cary Schudy of Earth Environment Service, a private forecasting firm based in San Francisco. In fact, it might even be slightly cooler.
The weak system that passed through Thursday brought a few light showers and prompted a travelers advisory concerning gusty 30-m.p.h.-plus winds in the mountains.
There will be low clouds tonight and Saturday morning. The high temperatures in Orange County on both days should range from 65 to 70 degrees, warming to the mid-70s by Sunday.
