Marshall High’s Championship
It was such a pleasure to read about the students from John Marshall who won the national Academic Decathlon. Coach Tokofsky and the members of the team are to be congratulated for doing an outstanding job.
It is terribly unfortunate, however, that Coach Tokofsky is contemplating leaving the teaching profession because his salary is so disproportionately low when compared to his services.
This should send a loud and clear message to Gov. George Deukmejian that our school districts are going to continue to lose more dedicated teachers if he doesn’t allocate more money to education. And the big losers will be our children--our future.
