Two bodies authorities believe are those of escaped convicts hunted for nearly a week were removed from the burned rubble of a summer house at Wolf Creek, Mont. They were taken for identification to a hospital in Great Falls. Lewis and Clark County Coroner M. E. Nelson said that only two bodies were found at the site, although authorities say two men and a woman fired on them April 27. Asked if the burned bodies were male, Nelson replied: “I’m not that far yet.” Two of the shooters are believed to have been Steven Miller, 34, and John (Doc) Whitus Jr., 36, double murderers who escaped last year from the California Medical Facility in Vacaville.
