Seven “alternate” recordings from Elvis Presley’s historic 1954 and 1955 sessions in Memphis will be released for the first time in July as part of a double-album titled “The Complete Sun Sessions.” Gregg Geller, outgoing vice president of artists and repertoire for RCA Records, told the International CD Exchange newsletter that he uncovered five alternate versions of “I’m Left, You’re Right, She’s Gone” and two other renditions of “I Love You Because” while searching through the RCA vaults in New York. The material is generally regarded by pop critics as the most influential recordings ever in rock. The album is part of a series of repackages being released this summer, the 10th anniversary of the singer’s death (Aug. 16).
