The Associated Press, the world’s oldest and largest news service, Monday elected two new directors and re-elected five incumbents.
The new directors are Ruth S. Holmberg of the Chattanooga (Tenn.) Times, and David R. Bradley Jr. of the St. Joseph (Mo.) News-Press and Gazette.
Incumbent directors elected to new three-year terms were James K. Batten of the Miami Herald and president of Knight-Ridder Newspapers, Tom Johnson of the Los Angeles Times, J. Stewart Bryan III of the Richmond (Va.) Times-Dispatch and News Leader, Joe D. Smith Jr. of the Alexandria (La.) Daily Town Talk and John O. Emmerich Jr. of the Greenwood (Miss.) Commonwealth.
