Torey Lovullo hit two first-inning home runs, and Steve Hisey added a grand slam in the same inning Sunday as UCLA defeated USC, 11-6, in a Pacific 10 Southern Division game at Jackie Robinson Stadium.

After Tony Scruggs singled off USC starter John Reilley (6-6), Lovullo gave the Bruins the lead for good with his first homer of the game.

Reilley faced seven Bruins, and all of them scored.

Lovullo hit his second homer of the inning with two outs and Bobby Holley on base to complete the Bruins’ nine-run first-inning outburst. This homer was off reliever Greg Mayer.

Lovullo, who has 23 homers this season, became the first player in NCAA history to hit two home runs in the same inning twice during his career. He did it last season against California.

Steve Stowell (10-6) pitched the first 6 innings to pick up the victory for UCLA, which is 16-13 in the Pacific 10 and 37-21-1 overall. USC is 11-15 and 31-25.
