GTECH Corp. became a three-time winner when it was recommended for another state lottery supply contract, boosting potential value of its deals with the state to more than $200 million. California Lottery Director Mark Michalko announced that he will recommend that the Warwick, R. I., company be given a contract to supply 2,500 to 7,000 additional Lotto terminals, under a pact which would be worth $25 million to $70 million. The recommendation will go to the state Lottery Commission on May 14. In February, 1986, GTECH won the original $121-million contract to set up 5,000 Lotto terminals statewide and install computer centers to log the bets. The computer firm won a second contract, worth about $11 million, to supply another 1,500 terminals. The latest contract is part of the lottery’s plan to expand the Lotto network to more than 10,000 terminals statewide.
