Mideast Expert Named Envoy to Saudi Arabia

WASHINGTON —
President Reagan today nominated career diplomat Hume Horan to be ambassador to Saudi Arabia, succeeding Walter Cutler.
Horan, 52, a Harvard graduate and Middle East specialist who has been ambassador to Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and the Sudan, is currently diplomat-in-residence at Georgetown University.
