Sym-Tek Systems Inc. Reports $171,000 Loss

Sym-Tek Systems Inc. on Wednesday reported a $171,000 net loss and revenue that remained flat at $5.3 million for the fourth quarter ended March 31. The company reported a $269,000 net profit a year ago.

For the fiscal year ended March 31, Sym-Tek reported $561,000 in net income and $24 million in revenue. The San Diego-based manufacturer of test handling equipment for the semiconductor industry reported $1.2 million in net income and $27.3 million in revenue during the previous fiscal year.

A “strategic increase in R&D; investment (and) a softening in the semiconductor market” reduced Sym-Tek’s net income, according to President Ray Twigg.
